Everyone in my family raves about Grandma’s Orange Bread.  At least I always thought it was Orange Bread

Turns out its Brown Bread.  Im sure you could just add some orange juice and grated rind and pretty much have it.

Grandma Parent’s Brown Bread Farmer’s Market –

South Bend, Indiana

  1. 4 C Flour
  2. 2 tsp Salt
  3. 4 C All Bran (1 box)
  4. 2 tsp Soda
  5. 4 C Buttermilk (1 qt)
  6. 4 tsp Baking Powder
  7. 1 C Sugar
  8. 1 C Molasses (dark)
  9. 1 C Raisins or Crasions
  10. Add Nuts, Walnuts, if desired

Mix all ingredients in a large bowl. This recipe will make two Large loaves or five of the smaller loaves. Bake 2 hours at 350 degrees. Remove from pan and allow to rest 8-10 minutes Before cutting. Delicious with butter or cream cheese!
